DS Research Centre (DSRC) is organising a special nationwide drive as part of the World Cancer Day on Saturday under the theme “Together We Can” highlighting the role of togetherness in fighting cancer.

In this regard, the team of the centre in Hyderabad will carry out activities involving cancer fighters and school students that include a rally at Necklace Road on Saturday.

A statement released by DSRC on Thursday said, “It is estimated by ICMR that there will be around 17 lakh new cases of cancer detected by 2020 in India, showing an alarming state of affairs.

This mammoth number is implying the urgent need for creating proper awareness regarding cancer. Awareness regarding cancer is still less in India and ignorance is rampant. Our main aim is to reach out to various sections of the society and spread knowledge.

Therefore, an in house seminar at DSRC clinic in Hyderabad is presented by doctors for creating awareness.” The research centre is also carrying out free registration for walk-in patients on Saturday. Interested people can contact on phone numbers 91 9100943142/040-46664141.
