Theatre production ‘Drama Queen’ is adapted from Suchitra Krishnamoorthi’s book and was presented by the Qadir Ali Baig Theatre Foundation at Hotel Sheraton. Suchitra enacts the central character of middle aged woman in search of a partner in life, post separation from her husband.

There are many scenes where the actress meets people from different walks of life belonging to different religions and business communities with typical qualities, which do not work out for a successful relationship.

Does the middle aged woman want to get married to have more babies or sex in life was a question that pops up from time to time as per the dialogues narrated? Will the woman get her desired partner, was suspense to the audience till the last minute.

Finally, the woman goes to Bangkok in search of an anticipated relationship with lot of expectation. But it turns out that the person, who invited her is already having a successful marriage and had other thoughts of a temporary fling. So the final result is coming back to square one and the search for a life partner continues.

Suchitra Krishnamoorthi not only acted with ease but also sang a few songs in gay abandon with a sweet voice. One was reminded of some yesteryear popular musicals, which kept the audience glued to their seats. Inaayat Ali Sami did a commendable job as the director of the play.
