The recently launched multi-designer e-commerce portal successfully put up their first pop-up in the city, curated personally by the founder Deepa Reddy; the brand unveiled its Spring Summer collection atNGrill in Jubilee Hills. Designers showcased their latest SS17 collection straight from the Lakme Fashion Week.

Jyoti Sachdev showcased her ‘Schiei’, a collection that reflects all that the Indian woman aspires to be in the current day -strong, individualistic, understated with a bold statement to make. Her collection gives the classic look, a modern take yet keeping the alluring elegance of the garments intact. “Each garment has beautiful details that offer a new, modern twist on the classic silhouettes.

The fabrics used are organza and georgette that complement the vibe of summer fashion through light, breezy and sheer texture. The elegant, light hues of the collection translate effortlessly from one season to the next,” says Jyoti.

Raj Shroff’s designed his collection, embracing the onset of summer with bright colours, floral prints and cool fabrics. “The colour tone is gray mustard and my collection is for summer to the holiday. And you can find Indo- western, and don’t miss the contemporary textile art sarees,” indicates Raj.

Bengaluru-based Shweta Gupta along with her husband-wife bring back age-old jewellery with a modern twist. The designer, says, “Our style of collection is vintage. We made a jadav in a contemporary design, which can go well with any dress.”

The founder Deepa Reddy says, “Open Trunk was born out of that desire to offer people a place for that perfect, tailor-made fit in stylish Indian clothes, exquisite silver jewellery and handcrafted footwear, to complete any look.”

“Open Trunk is a treasure trove of all that is rich, elegant and simplistic from the world of textiles and design. It is an online portal for women’s clothing, which aims to bring to people designer clothes from across the country showcasing some of the signature traditional weaves, styles and handwork, of the various states from the north to south.

Open Trunk is the first portal to offer designer clothes for ages 5-80, for occasions big and small both on the international and the Indian calendar,” adds Deepa.

Bhramini Reddy, Jewellery designer and Gemologist says, “I have silver jewellery collection, which is classic in style. Today people changed their need and taste; earlier they always preferred gold but now they want silver which is affordable and available.”

Fashion stylist Tanya Bhat, adds, “People are looking for loose, layered dresses and the colour of the season is white, when it comes to jewellery - statement pieces are in trend.”
