Unlike the popular urban “myth”, Valentine’s Day is not just for couples. Millennial youngsters do everything ‘hatke’ and now singles don’t hate February 14. When enquired about their plans we found surprising answers from these people; they’re all about ‘loving themselves’.
Unlike the popular urban “myth”, Valentine’s Day is not just for couples. Millennial youngsters do everything ‘hatke’ and now singles don’t hate February 14. When enquired about their plans we found surprising answers from these people; they’re all about ‘loving themselves’.
According to city youngsters V-Day is more like a reminder for the youth to not to miss out a chance in loving themselves. Youngsters opine that being single should not prevent one from enjoying the day when chocolates are heart-shaped and roses spotted at every corner of the street.
Speaking to the CityTAB Satya Mounica, Business Analyst at 3LOQ Labs says, “I want to pamper myself. The best way is to go out for a spa day. There is no need for us to stick to rules or regulations. We can go out with anyone and everywhere is the best advantage of being single. And thankfully there are lot of offers at spas and saloons too as V-Day special so what is more good than celebrating a day just for oneself.”
Shiny Rachel, a software developer from Infosys shares, “I want to take off from my work and spend time alone at my place. I have plans to cook interesting dishes, which I never tried before. In the evening I want to go around checking out the malls that are up with special sale offers. I want to gift myself something nice.”
Since V-Day is falling on a Tuesday, it being a work-day most people are not taking leave from work. But, that doesn’t stop them for shopping for a gift for themselves. “I plan to buy some stuff from e-stores that are full of offer tags and online shopping is the easiest way in today’s world. At least at the end of the day I will make sure to go for a feast,” smiles Mohammed Mazharuddin Assistant Engineer at TSSPDCL.
While most are opting to shop, a handful of other singles are excited to spend the day with Mother Nature. Bharath Panjala, Application Development Analyst from Accenture Company says, “I want to celebrate V-Day in the lap of nature.
I am planning to go for a long drive escaping from the city traffic. The unconditional love one gets from nature is unbeatable. That too I wish to travel all alone on my bike.” Well, single or not it’s a day of love and we can all have more of that around for sure!
