Uncle Pai deserves Bharat Ratna
Indic Academy launched the book ‘The Modern Monk’ by Hindol Sengupta at Platinum Jubilee Auditorium, Osmania University at Center for Distance Education on Sunday. Dr Karanam Aravinda Rao released the book in the presence of Sengupta, Prof A Ramulu and Srinivas Udumudi.

After the release, Sengupta delivered a talk on the subject "What Vivekananda Means to Us Today”. In the session, he said that Swami Vivekananda was a rock star. “He was a rock star in a true sense. The one famous thing, which all rock stars around the globe did was to die young and leave a mammoth legacy behind at a very young age,” the journalist-turned-author said.
Sengupta also said that pioneer of India comics Anant Pai should be bestowed with Bharat Ratna Award. “Uncle Pai as he was fondly known should be awarded Bharat Ratna. That man has done so much with his Amar Chitra Katha and other comics, many kids then and now also know the history of India because of him,” he extolled.
