Excerpts:

Tell us about your stint in the fashion world?
My mother had a boutique in Ram Koti and I am assisting her since 13 years. It was earlier called ‘Heena Boutique’; however, I rechristened it as Kanak Studio. I always take her suggestions while designing.

Tell us about working with Soha Ali Khan.
I have done designs for many celebrities from Tollywood and working with Bollywood diva Soha Ali Khan is dream come true. I gave her a complete bridal look for the event.

Tell us about your recent collections and what type of fabric and embellishment feature in your collection?
My recent collections are about figures, dancing dolls and it means happiness. It has zardosi, beads, threads and badla; it has very intricate work. It’s a fusion of all works together. I don’t repeat designs. I make only single pieces. I have used fabrics like raw silk, saturn silk, linen silk and other heavy fabrics.

Do you have any personal favourites?
Yes and it’s vintage. I feel that I am somewhere connected to those vintage styles. I like flowers and antique figures in the collection, but I mainly like floral elements.
