International Dance Research and Training Centre (IDRTC) in association with Shilparamam and Department of Language and Cultural AP conducted a two-day dance festival recently at Shilparamam.

Speaking on the occasion Dr Satyanarayana Sharma Tadepalli, Director of IDRTC, who hails from Kuchipudi village, said, “The main objective of this programme is to arrange all dance forms like Kuchipudi, Bharatanatyam, Odissi and more.

I believe with this confluence of all dance forms at one stage will help all dancers to know about other State dances. Many young students these days prefer performing arts. For them, we also introduced young teachers to train them.”

“We are doing this festival in all State headquarters. All these dancers came here from all over India. Shilparamam is a good venue for arts. In Hyderabad, people encourage artists more compared to other states,” he added.

Four performance were held in different classical forms - Kuchipudi by Neena Cherian from Hyderabad; Sannidha DSK, Visakhapatnam; Dr Vedantham Venkata Chalapathi, and a group dance by students of University of Hyderabad and Odissi by Koushik Das from Kolkata.
