Oakridge International School recently conducted the Oakridge Model United Nations (MUN) conference for students of Grade 4 and 5. During the event student delegates took on roles of international diplomats and ambassadors and tackled some of the most pressing global issues. 

Oakridge International School recently conducted the Oakridge Model United Nations (MUN) conference for students of Grade 4 and 5. During the event student delegates took on roles of international diplomats and ambassadors and tackled some of the most pressing global issues.

The debate in the conference was engaging and the young delegates came up with some brilliant solutions in their draft resolutions. Some of these included desalination of water from brackish aquifers so that it can become potable, rainwater harvesting to take place in countries and made a legal necessity wherever possible, promote use of fuel efficient hybrids and fully electric vehicles, encourage buying more FSC certified wood products.

Speaking on the occasion, KV Arjun Rao, Principal Oakridge Newton Gachibowli campus said, "The Oakridge MMUN is the ultimate scaffold for students to become true believers in the ideology of the United Nations. Through the process of the MUN simulations, students of Oakridge in Grades 4 and 5 will devise ways of achieving the sustainable goals of the UN enabling the creation of a safer and progressive world.”
