To encourage the cultural activities in the city, a new cultural space ‘Phoenix Arena’ opened recently at TSIIC Park (Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation Park), Phase-2 Hitec City. Phoenix Arena is built on four acres of land and has an amphitheatre auditorium, art gallery and a library.

Speaking about the new cultural space in the city, Rahul Reddy, Director of Phoenix Arena, shared, “In Hyderabad, there are 25 theatre groups, 50 dance groups, who perform regularly. But we only have 3-4 venues that too with less space.

The artists want more cultural venues to showcase their talent. To overcome this problem, Suresh Chukkapally, Chairman of Phoenix Group came forward to set up a cultural hub at TSIIC Park to promote artists in Telangana. Phoenix group associated with TSIIC and made this cultural hub into reality.”

Rahul informs that the Arena’s amphitheatre has sitting capacity of 700 and it has two greenrooms and another auditorium is 200-seater, where discussions, seminars and other small events take place. The venue also has an art gallery and a library, which has more than 5,000 books.

“Two months ago we organised our first programme and for that more than 250 people came to watch the play. Till now we organised more than 70 events. We have also got good response from the local people. We believe Phoenix Arena will help the promotion of art and culture in Hyderabad city,” he said.
