Students of St Andrews participated in the ‘Farewell Prayer Service’ held at the premises in Bowenpally recently. The event was held to welcome students of tenth and twelfth standard.

In this regard, Managing Director Hyacinth Emmanuel addressed the gathering and motivated the students. This was followed by an introductory speech by the high school coordinator, Mary Washington, on how the choices we make mould our lives.

An opening hymn was sung by the student choir and teachers came up to present the scripture readings interspersed by prayers of thanksgiving from the student cabinet leaders. In addition, intercessory prayers were articulated by the student cabinet leaders intermixed with melodious responses from the choir.

Later, a farewell party was held for the students amidst cultural extravaganza that included sketches, dances and singing. Exciting games were created that engaged the seniors throughout the party. The ‘Rubber Band’ sang popular songs and the student dancers regaled the crowd with a mashup of current Bollywood favourites.

As the party drew to a close, the representatives of the 12th standard spoke words of gratitude and inspiration for the future. To add to the display of talent, the head boy, Rohan Datta, sang a song of friendship he had composed. Culminating the celebration, all of the outgoing batch were called on stage where they sang a song and cat-walked down the stage in the scintillating ‘ramp walk’.
