Malkajgiri MP writes to Defence Minister

Malkajgiri MP Malla Reddy has written to the Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar on the issue of AOC road closure. In his letter he said that the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) and the Local Military Authority (LMA) met recently to undertake a survey on alternate roads but there were more than 10 that are out of bound for the common man.

People residing in Bolarum, Alwal, Yapral, Balaji Nagar and beyond have to travel more than 8km instead of just 800m due to the closure of roads and requested the minister to reopen the roads.

The closed /restricted roads include Gen Krishna Rao Marg from Hakimpet to TASA Circle, Cariappa Road from Bison Dwar to Rajiv Rahadari via Holy Trinity church, Barr road from Cantonment telephone exchange to Rajiv Rahadari, Golf Course-Hanuman temple, Golf Course-Lakdawala road, Wellington road from Picket to AOC circle, Ordinance Road from AOC circle to Safilguda among others.

The Federation of North Eastern Colonies of Secunderabad insists that alternate roads that the GHMC and LMA propose would not be help people residing in the eastern part of the cantonment and want immediate reopening of the roads.
