Catholics venerate a golden statuette of Saint Anthony of Padua that was brought to the city from Rome, Italy on Thursday. St Anthony is one of most famous disciples of St Francis of Assisi and was known as a ‘worker of miracles’. The golden statuette, housed at St Mary’s Basilica in Secunderabad, contains a reliquary holding the tongue, vocal cards and floating rib of the saint, who died in 1231.
