Her labour is taken for granted, her love and kindness is at times rewarded by travesty and deceit, her reputation is tarnished at a drop of a hat, her body goes against her, at certain junctures in life and the list grows as much as her day to day chores do. Not everyone is fortunate enough to get a helping hand from a male member of the family, but it is not impossible to aim for co-operation with continued dialogue and understanding.

Education for all, responsible up-bringing of children, would definitely ensure in restoring an equal society for men and women. The participating artists were - Anita Rao, Anjum, Archana Rajguru, Aruna Chandaraju, Ashuma Dewan, Bindu Upadhyay, Farzona Khanoon, Jhelum Chattaraj (poet), Juluri Sravanthi, Kappari Kishan, Koeli Mukherjee Ghose, Kiran Asanabada, Lavanya, Lavanya Dutt, Maredu Ramu, Parameshwar Raju, Partha Pratim Roy, Pavan Kumar, Piu Mahapatra, , Rupavani Talari, Sai Madhuri, Sabita Lakshmanan, Swetha, Sweta Chandra, Syed Shaeik, Uma Tirumalasetti, U Vijay Kumar and Vimala Maroju.

Koeli Mukherjeee Ghose, Curator, shares, “Elixir of voices is eloquent with the individual forms of expression of the artists as they deal with various facets of women's issues; their tribulations and celebrations. She is symbolically represented as nature, a flowering garden, fruit bearing trees, the change of season, in multifaceted roles and often in unfortunate incidences of violence.”

“Her search for her identity is not over yet but she is not willing to settle down for anything less than what she wants. She wants to be comfortable during the most difficult period of the monthlies, while at work, while travelling, as much as she is at ease, amidst her caring family.

And yes, there are reflections of the girl child being nurtured too. Violence, discrimination, playing a second fiddle, compromising justice and lack of sisterhood are not acceptable when the present time is shouting out its need for the human touch,” she adds. Artists are constantly evolving their imagery around humanitarian values and now it's time for everyone to come together to feel the pulse of time.
