City mayor Bonthu Rammohan on Tuesday thanked Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao for allocating Rs 1,000 crore for the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation.

To make it more pronounced, accompanied by corporators, Rammohan called on KCR at his residence. He stated that Rao had done the unprecedented as no earlier chief minister in the undivided Andhra Pradesh had extended such a largesse to the civic body.

Later, he told The Hans India that credit should also go to the personal efforts of Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao, who took the initiatives to seek such an allocation for the 'happening' Corporation.

Giving the break-up, the Mayor said that Rs 455.60 crore was earmarked for development of roads; Rs 377.60 for Musi project; Rs 1420.50 for HMWS&SB.
