Potters get busy as summer beckons

The place looks rundown despite it being in the midst of the ever-bustling Ameerpet locality. Devoid of the glamour-quotient of a business proposition, hardly anyone bothers to give a second look at the artisans toiling away in the sun to eke out a livelihood.

Potters for generations together, they are working overtime to be summer-ready and flood the market with the poor man’s refrigerators, pots, vases, among others.

Four brothers Ramulu, K Srinivas, Nagesh and Arvind and their wives who know of no other profession work from a place near Gurudwara Ameerpet and cater to the requirements in the entire vicinity. This is the only season when they can earn something substantial, the siblings explain.
