The Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) North Zorth, Sumathi along with badmintion player Jwala Gutta was part of an inspirational panel at EFL University recently.

The Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) North Zorth, Sumathi along with badmintion player Jwala Gutta was part of an inspirational panel at EFL University recently.

The programme was marked to celebrate ‘International Women’s Day’ in which the university’s Vice-Chancellor Professor Sunaina Singh was also present.

DCP Sumathi spoke about the importance of educating the girl-child and the impact it has on society. “Society should learn to help and protect women and not leave everything upon law enforcement agencies. One must know how to react to the situations,” she said.

On the other hand, Gutta cautioned the students not to harass anyone on social media. Prof Singh encouraged girls to achieve success by adopting the three ‘D’s that is ‘Determination, Dedication and Discipline’.

Later, the female staff of EMMRC, EFL University was felicitated. In addition, 18 girl-students from the deprived sections of the society were given scholarships by the ‘Sunaina Singh Foundation’.
