Centre for Cultural Resources and Training (CCRT), Hyderabad organised the 37th National Cultural Festival ‘Unity in Diversity’ at its premises in Madhapur. Children from different parts of the country undertaking training under the scholarship schemes of CCRT came to Hyderabad and presented their individual and group performances at the centre.

These performances were a barometer to indicate that the younger generation in India is interested in the heritage and culture of their country and the parents have been encouraging their children in their respective disciplines of arts.

Students of vocal music were trained in group performances by carnatic vocalist Srividya while the instrumental music students were trained by Tabla player Gajendra Shewalkar and violinist B Pavan Singh from Hyderabad.

Children performed on Tabla, Sarod, Harmonium, Violin, Mridangam, Guitar and Pena while the dance forms like Bharatanatyam, Sattriya, Kathak, Odissi, Kuchipudi, Bhangra, Mohiniyattam and Ranapa were performed by children from all over the country. For all the child participants it was a unique experience to see different art forms at a single venue and meet and make many lifetime friends through this workshop.
