The year-long celebrations of the 40th anniversary of Dr MCR HRD Institute, flagged off last year, concluded in Jubilee Hills on Sunday.

The year-long celebrations of the 40th anniversary of Dr MCR HRD Institute, flagged off last year, concluded in Jubilee Hills on Sunday. Finance Minister Eatala Rajender inaugurated a 40-year pylon, unveiled the portrait of Dr Marri Channa Reddy and felicitated outstanding former employees of the Institute in recognition of their contributions.

One of the key highlights of the function was the inauguration of the Centre for Telangana Studies by the minister. Rajender said that mere availability of human resources is not sufficient and added that their effective utilisation, through high quality training holds the key for the growth of the economy.

He said that imparting the right set of ethical and moral values, as a part of all training programmes, is of great importance for taking the society in the right direction. AK Goel, Advisor, Planning & Energy called upon the Centre for Telangana Studies to produce transformational leaders for the larger good of the State.

GR Reddy, Advisor, Finance said that there is a huge diversity across districts and mandals in terms of key human development indices. He advised the Centre for Telangana Studies to take up research studies to explore the determinants of this diversity and come out with enduring solutions.

Earlier, Dr K Tirupataiah, Additional Director General of the Institute welcomed the gathering and Anitha Balakrishna, Joint Director General proposed a vote of thanks. BP Acharya, Special Chief Secretary for Planning & Director General of the Institute and Vinod K Agrawal, former Director General of the Institute were also present.
