Spectacular start to super IPL
Even before Amy Jackson set the stage on fire with her raunchy numbers, in the spotlight were global ambassadors, Tendulkar, Saurav Ganguly, Virender Sehwag and local hero VVS Laxman, who received a thunderous welcome as soon as he stepped on to the ground.
“I cannot believe that IPL has completed 10 years. It is a great achievement. When the first season was announced, I never thought it would so big”. This observation by Sachin Tendulkar set the ball rolling for the spectacular opening ceremony of the tenth edition of the sport’s biggest entertainer before a packed audience at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium (RGICS) on Wednesday.

They all were brought on a golf cart. Ganguly found the atmosphere as superior as one witnessed during football World Cup final while Sehwag insisted that cricketers had to have a streak of entertainment in them.
The spectators were literally on their feet when Jackson performed to numbers ranging from 'Saara Zamana, Haseeno ka deewana' to 'Kala Chasma' Our lensman Ravi Giragani captures the multitude of emotions that prevailed.
