Furniture World donated Rs 50,000 to the Concern India Foundation at their Banjara Hills branch here on Thursday. It has recently conducted an ‘Exchange Mela’, where customers can give their old furniture and use that value as down payment for purchasing new furniture.

The good thing is that the money thus collected by Furniture World will be used for social activities. This time they decided to donate Rs 50,000 to Concern India Foundation, a Hyderabad-based NGO, which focuses on society’s urgent challenges of education, health and community development.

Surender Linga, Managing Director of Furniture World handed over the Rs 50,000 cheque to Paula Sheikh, Branch Manager of Concern India Foundation. “Previously, we did these types of social activities in Bengaluru and this is the first time we were doing it in Hyderabad. Inspired by the work of Concern India Foundation, this time we donated money to them,” said Surender Linga.

“We are happy for this initiative. Through our organisation we work towards helping people help themselves by making the disadvantaged self-reliant and enabling them to lead a life of dignity. This type of initiative has to come more in the city to help poor people,” said Paula Sheikh.
