The 318th ‘Khalsa Panth Foundation Day’ also known as ‘Baisakhi’ was celebrated on a grand scale by the Sikh community at Ameerpet on Thursday.

The 318th ‘Khalsa Panth Foundation Day’ also known as ‘Baisakhi’ was celebrated on a grand scale by the Sikh community at Ameerpet on Thursday. It began with the recitation of Gurubani Keertans by Ragi Jathas followed by a huge colourful Nagar Keertan and an exhilarating and breathtaking display of ‘Gatka' skills by the youth.

The major attraction was held at Sri Guru Gobind Singhji Play Grounds, Ameerpet under the aegis of the Prabhandak Committee where over 25,000 devotees participated in the mass congregation.

Bhai Inderjeet Singh Khalsa (Amritsar), Bhai Baldev Singhji Vadala, (Punjab), Sufi Sant Ghulam Haider Qadri, Bhai Veer Singhji, Jatha Tera Jatha and other Ragi Jathas rendered Gurbani keertans that stressed on imbibing the higher values of life.

Prabhandak Committee of Gurudwara Saheb Ameerpet,Chairman,S Amarjeet SIngh, President S Bhagender Singh, General Secretary S Surender Singh and other office bearers welcomed the devotees. After the culmination of the congregation, the traditional Guru-ka-Langar was served to all.

Later, a procession was taken out from Gurudwara Saheb Ameerpet and passed through the main corridors Greenlands, Begumpet and Punjagutta. The Guru Granth Sahebji was carried on a decorated vehicle along with five "Nishaan saheban" during the procession. Shabad keertans were rendered by the Keerthani jathas of men, women and youth groups.
