Aware Gleneagles Global Hospitals launched a dedicated helpline for quick management of neurological stroke on Wednesday.

Aware Gleneagles Global Hospitals launched a dedicated helpline for quick management of neurological stroke on Wednesday. The number was launched by neurologists, Dr Suresh Reddy and Dr Rahul Kondari at the hospital premises in LB Nagar. “The launch of a helpline is intended to save lives of individuals by providing them access to the team of experts at our hospital.

The golden window period of four hours is extremely critical and as a part of ‘Community Connect’ initiative, we plan to educate general practitioners as well as the people to identify the symptoms of neurological stroke and send them to the nearest hospital that provides specialised care,” said Dr Sharath Chandran, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Aware Gleneagles Global Hospitals.

“Neurological stroke can lead to partial or full paralysis of the body, leading to a healthy individual running the risk of being bedridden for life. Today, we have a large number of patients among us who have been successfully been treated and managed after an episode of stroke,” said Dr Reddy, Senior Neuro Physician at the hospital. The public can access the service by dialing +91-7330999641.
