We’ve reached the hottest part of summer; it’s May 1 today! With increasing heat the choices in your wardrobe keep limiting themselves. Yet, fashion is the language widely spoken. It is not only important but necessary to keep yourself updated and in sync with trends. Men’s fashion has taken an interesting turn this year with fluidity in collections presented at the Spring/Summer Fashion Week. Here are a few options for the summer look book for men.

PINK
For long pink has been a colour that men have been afraid to wear. It’s the season to reclaim pink for both women and men, and whether you decide to go for a clean pastel pink or a deeper ruby toned shade, there’s bound to be something you’ll like the look of. If you’re nervous about dipping your toe into the pinky waters, just start small. A black T-shirt with a pink graphic design on it or a pink baseball cap can allow you to enjoy it without going in too deep.

WIDE LEG TROUSERS
Menswear trends come and go, but when it comes to wide leg trousers, there’s a fair amount of hanging around. It is comfortable, flattering to a whole range of shapes and sizes, and is actually easy to customise to your liking. You can go for extreme wide leg trousers to create a statement look, or keep them fairly discrete and channel a subtle yet unique style. Keep them cropped to the ankles or maintain a standard length of your choice.

FABRICS
Deflect sweat and stay cool with these heat-fighting natural fibers. The return of double-digit temperatures doesn’t necessarily mean stripping off. While it’s tempting to reduce your wardrobe to shorts and string vests, such a restrictively ‘capsule’ approach doesn’t leave room for much creativity. So keep the style and swerve the sweat with the natural fabrics that were built for spring and summer.

FITTED FLAT FRONT SHORTS
Shorts have become slimmer and higher for well over a decade. Once you find some that fit, buy them in multiple colors. Again, with a limited number of items in our getups, any difference in detail, be it color or pattern, will create a drastically different look paired with the same shirt and shoes.

PREMIUM BASICS
Although it might seem a waste of money at first, a high-quality T-shirt that fits perfectly and is made from a material that’s soft and easy to clean lets your skin breath.

CUBAN COLLAR SHIRTS
The shirt is comprised of a small notch lapel collar, a loose body and short sleeves, making it an ideal piece for warm weather. It’s best to get one in soft linen or poplin cotton for a relaxed finish. Matching this statement shirt with a pair of slim fit chinos is a classic look. However, avoid playing around with contrasting prints.

SLOGAN T-SHIRTS
Slogan T-shirts have become something of a staple amongst fashion followers alike. The slogan tee looks great tucked in to a pair of trousers and then teamed with a casual trainer.

TONAL LOOKS
Nothing beats a great tonal look as they make dressing just a bit easier. We all know the classic all-black tonal look as it’s been championed by so many people over the years, but tackle this SS17 trend with something a little different. Try going for an all grey or an all navy tonal look, as they’re great colours for both smart and casual looks. Try wearing a navy suit with a navy T-shirt, but keep the T-shirt in a contrasting tone to the suit. This adds a point of difference to your look without it being too out there.
