As part of the ‘World Asthma Day’, Aware Gleneagles Global Hospitals organised a 4km walk for about 100 residents of LB Nagar and Saroor Nagar on Tuesday.

As part of the ‘World Asthma Day’, Aware Gleneagles Global Hospitals organised a 4km walk for about 100 residents of LB Nagar and Saroor Nagar on Tuesday.

The event was held in association with traffic police of Rachakonda commissionerate. It was flagged by N Divya Charan Rao Deputy Commissioner of Police Traffic and Ch Sridhar Assistant Commissioner of Police Traffic, in the presence of Dr Sharath Chandran – COO (Chief Operating officer), Aware Gleneagles Global Hospitals.

The campaign was called “Live Breathfully” to explain the importance of breathing with full lung capacity. Dr Chandran said that present lifestyle, including food and environmental factor such as pollution are the reasons for major health problems.

He also said that as an extension of the event awareness drive from Aware Gleneagles Global Hospitals in association with Big FM 92.7 launched five ambulances across the city conducting free Lung capacity testing for two days.

Dr Prasad, Senior Consultant Pulmonologist, Aware Gleneagles Global Hospitals, said, “World Asthma Day is celebrated on first Tuesday of May every year. Taking regular visits to doctor helps in understanding the condition of lungs and regular exercise improves the breathing ability.”
