South Zone and SCF Blues gave a flying start to to the 18th Boston Cup-2017, under the joint auspices of Boston Mission High School and Sports Coaching Foundation (SCF) winning their respective Under-12 opening matches at the SCF Sports Complex in Masab Tank.

The former defeated Supercats Cricket Academy by seven wickets in the right-over contest while SCF Blue put it across SCF Reddy by eight wickets.

Earlier, glowing tributes were paid to late Mohd Shaker Ahmed, the Correspondent of the school and the man who conceptualised the popular event. A two-minute silence was observed in his memory.

Inaugurating the tournament, Kausar Mohiuddin, MLA from Karwan Constituency, said he was overwhelmed by the response and appreciated the Kala Pather, Tadban-based BMHS and SCF for their continued patronage for the event.

Ayesha Rubina, Corporator from Ahmed Nagar appreciated the organizers for conducting such a huge event continuously to encourage budding cricketers.

Badar Bin Abdullah, Correspondent of Hyderabad Mission School, Momin Patel, Mohd Imran Ahmed Correspondent Boston Mission High School, Mohd Firdous and K Sai Baba Founder of SCF retraced the journey of the tournament and how it meant ‘a lot to Shakir Sir’.

Brief scores: Under-12: Supercats Cricket Academy 59 for five wickets (Abrar 22, Murtuza 19, Rohan 4/10) lost to Super Zone 60 for three wickets (Rahul 41no); SCF Reds 78 for two wickets (Rohit 51, Rohan 2/10) lost to SCF Blues 79 for two wickets (Ravanth 62no).
