An ultra modern solar power plant was installed at the Sreenidhi Institute of Science and Technology (SNIST) over the weekend. The plant was inaugurated by Mahesh Bhagawat, Rachakonda Commissioner of Police.

Bhagawat said, “It is the duty of the citizens of the world to think futuristic and save our planet.” Applauding the initiative, he said, “The Sreenidhi Solar Power Plant produces about 500KWp energy; it may be noted that this plant makes upto seven per cent of the total solar energy produced in our Sate.”

He explained about the sources of energy used, such as thermal, hydro and nuclear power plants. He warned that each of the sources has their limitations. “Solar energy is available free of cost and should be fully utilised for the good of our planet,” he asserted and hoped that the cost of solar power plants would reduce.

Jawahar Mahi, Chairperson of Sreenidhi Group, G Indeevar of Green Secure Energy, Amarender Reddy of NetCap, Dr Sumanth, Principal of SNIST, and Dr P Narasimha Reddy, Executive Director of SNIST were also present.
