Yuvakalavahini in association with Guru Prasadh Cultural Foundation organised a three-day ‘Guru Prasadh Theatre Festival’ at Tyagaraja Gana Sabha, Chikkadpally. On the day two, a play titled ‘Mystery’ was staged. It is penned by Subrahmanya Shastry and directed by Subbaraya Sharma. The play ‘Mystery’ revolves around a woman, Durgamma, who was murdered by an unknown person.

At the same time, five people Jagannatham, a retired judge; Sukumar, a psychologist; Chakradhar, an army man; Prakash Rao and Mitra come to the city and stay in a hotel to enjoy their weekend. After finding some clues about the murder the police conclude that the killer must be among these five people. In order to find the killer, two police personnel come to hotel in disguise and capture the killer with their skills.

A mystery play should have some twists and turns to engage the audience till the end, however, this play which is titled ‘Mystery’ completely lacks it. The narration also missed out many logics. The duration of the play (120 minutes) also troubled audience a little bit. Before the play an award ceremony was conducted to felicitate the makeup artistes of television, cinema and theatre. Senior actors Suman and Geetanjali felicitated the makeup artists.
