“I live and work from my home studio in Aurangabad and I am an abstract colourist. Before entering into the art field, I used to work as a graphic designer. Since my childhood, I am inspired by many art shows which I attended in Mumbai. My profession (Graphic Designing) also inspired me to draw artworks,” said artist Abhay Dattatreya Murlidhar.

Abhay did his Bachelor of Fine Arts from Government School of Arts, Aurangabad. Speaking about his present show ‘Twilight Dwellings of My Mind’, he shares, “In this show, I put it on paper in colours like green, blue and yellow what I have seen of nature.

Some of my work shows the tearing away from the rural green to urban gray colour; our way of seeing the transformed landscape. My landscape art works reveals a space that is somewhere in between light and dark, the urban and the rural, soft earth and dust.”

“This is my first art show in Hyderabad. I displayed my works in many solo and group shows in Nasik, Aurangabad, and Mumbai. I received good response in Hyderabad for this show. In future I will do many shows in Hyderabad,” he concludes.
