The All India Malayalees Association (AIMA), Telangana will now have its own ambulance that will cater to transportation of deceased people to Kerala. The decision was taken at the AIMA’s first Executive Committee meeting at Malanadu Fine Arts Club auditorium recently.

The All India Malayalees Association (AIMA), Telangana will now have its own ambulance that will cater to transportation of deceased people to Kerala. The decision was taken at the AIMA’s first Executive Committee meeting at Malanadu Fine Arts Club auditorium recently.

Announcing the same, President of the association, TSC Prasad said, “The AIMA-T decided to acquire an ambulance to solve the plight of Malayalees settled in the city who wants to take the bodies of expired persons to Kerala. Private ambulances are charging around Rs 45,000 besides cost of travelling of the family members. This is unbearable for the common and economically backward people.”

The job of preparing a project and feasibility report, including the cost and resource mobilisation was handed over to the Quick Response Team (QRT) of the AIMA-T led by Jibu Pappachan. The ambulance could also be used in the city and inside Telangana wherever and whenever possible.

Members of AIMA-T that included MK Shashikumar, Secretary; T Vinoj Verghese, Treasurer; national Vice President, RS Pillai; Vice-Presidents CG Chandra Mohan and EJ Verghese Lawrence; national Executive Committee Member KU Isaac, MN Radhakrishnan and P Radhakrishnan were present.
