Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS Hospitals), Secunderabad, on the occasion of World Hypertension Day organised a meditation session for doctors and nursing staff on Wednesday.

A total of 200 participants took part in the session, which was organised by Heartfullness Meditation Centre. Dr Aloke C Mullick, Chief Operating Officer, KIMS Hospitals anchored the session and explained the importance of meditation to tackle the chronic and life-threatening issue of hypertension.

Dr Bhaskar Rao MD and CEO KIMS Hospitals said, “Doctors and healthcare professions across the world work under certain stressful conditions and need a channel to vent it out.

Meditation is certainly the best form to de-stress and we as doctors not just preach but also practice it. At KIMS Hospitals, we encourage our doctors and all other staff to practice meditation and yoga on a daily basis, to ensure they maintain good quality lifestyle.”
