Krishna district won the Third Inter-district Biathlon Championship with 65 points and also emerged Laser championship with 60 points. Krishna District Biathlon Association organised a two-day championship at Gurunanaknagar Swimming Pool and Indira Gandhi Municipal Corporation (IGMC) stadium in the city and competition were concluded on Tuesday.

Krishna District Biathlon Association organised a two-day championship at Gurunanaknagar Swimming Pool and Indira Gandhi Municipal Corporation (IGMC) stadium in the city and competition were concluded on Tuesday.
For the first time Biathlon championship was organised at Vijayawada and it evoked a good response from children of different age-groups and veterans. Interestingly these events comprised of swimming and running continuously. For conducting Laser Run, the organiser took the Pistols from Korea. This event comprised with 400 meters running and shooting lasers through pistol on the target. Later participants took part in a 400 meter run.
In this event, Krishna district bagged the win by getting 60 points. Visakhapatnam stood in second place with 34 points and Chittoor district stood in third place with 18 points. Krishna Biathlon players showed all-round talent and got 65 points and emerged as the overall champions. Visakhaptanam district got 31 points and Chittoor district got six points and stood second and third respectively.
Krishna District Sports Development Officer (DSDO) Md Sirajuddhin presented prizes to the overall champions and individual winners and runners up at IGMC stadium in the city on Tuesday. In this connection he said that Biathlon events are very useful to students of all-age groups.
Andhra Pradesh Biathlon Association chairman Kakarla Srinivasa Rao said that Biathlon nationals would be held at Pune in Maharashtra from Junbe 17 to 18. Biathlon tournament organising secretary Gamidi Sambasiva Rao, Intelligence DSP D Koteswa Rao, Judo association state secretary N Venkat and others participated in the concluding function.
