Third in the series of the fifth edition of ‘Hyderabad Arts Festival’ was an experiment on ‘Love - An Endless Journey’, which was a multi art form held at Phoenix Arena in Hitec City over the weekend.

The emotion was expressed though through sand art, kathak, vocals, violin and painting by local artistes who composed the programme.

Painter and sand artist Kanthrisa and Kathak dancer Nishi Ratnam, combined their art forms along with Gopi on violin and Sravanthi on vocals, to explore the aspects of love visible and invisible, material and spiritual. A fine blend of varied art forms came together to decipher the true meaning of love.

Kanth Risa, a celebrated artiste from Hyderabad whose paintings were the curtain raiser to this year’s fest, conceptualised a ballet as fresh and colourful as his paintings.

A story teller at heart, Kanth has used the medium of story-telling to invoke celebrated characters of Yashoda and Krishna, Meerabai and eminent personalities like famous Punjabi writer Amrita Pritam and hugely popular Che Guevara to answer a quintessential question “what is love”?

While Kanth used his canvas of sand to depict those stories, his ensemble of artistes brought his characters alive. While most ballets have a defined climax, with “Love an endless journey”, the artistes compelled the audience to celebrate life and art endlessly for the sake of love.
