It was the coming together of likeminded individuals, whose common goal is to make lives of young children meaningful and bring smiles on their faces by securing their future.

With a keen focus on this, Kavita Jain and Dr Samita Pandya founded the NGO, ‘New Steps Foundation’ that was officially launched by Cinematography Minister T Srinivas Yadav on Tuesday.

“As an NGO that cares, it will come as Godsend gift for hundreds of children from underprivileged families and those belonging to the lower strata. We understand their plight as they all are deprived of a quality childhood because of economic compulsions,” said Jain.

Following the launch, the Foundation adopted the Audiah Government High School (formerly Botny School) at Ranigunj and will work towards uplifting its students.

“We remain indebted to Ramgopalpet Division Corporator Aruna Goud and Deputy Inspector of Schools Kasturi for taking time-off to be present on the occasion,” said an overwhelmed Dr Pandya.

The Foundation will strive to provide the best of facilities and orientation by way of counselling by qualified personnel to young hopefuls, in order that their dreams will take concrete shape.

In his word of appreciation, the Minister hoped that the core promoters and team members of the Foundation will grow into a larger entity and reach out to deprived sections in all adjoining regions.

A nod for their credentials comes from actors Rajesh Khattar and Vandana Sanjanani Khattar, who came on board as brand ambassadors of the NGO.

Highlighting about their vision, Jain, stated that ‘New Steps Foundation has chalked out a scientifically and socially evolved blueprint to take forward our mission at Audiah Govt High School.’

The main aims of the Foundation include determining the potential in each kid, tap the latent talent and guide the individual on to the right path apart from providing basic infrastructural, medical and sports facilities. In addition, there will be prime focus on training girls in self-defence techniques and constructing proper toilets for them.

“In short, it will have all those features and facilities that make for a good high-end school. It will be transformed into an institution that the parents would want to send their children for their educational pursuits,” assured Jain.

“This will be our quest to build a future India where in every child will feel equal to his/her peer, irrespective of status and family backgrounds,” said Dr Pandya.
