Helping in walking with pride

There's no greater disability in the society than the inability to see a person as more and Red Chief has taken a step to diminish that disability from the society.

Falling upon a very humble request, on their social media account, from a courageous young man hailing from Puttaparthi, Andhra Pradesh, to help him fight his disability and feel confident about himself, set the design team at Red Chief into action.

Their exclusive effort of customising their existing design into a pair of bespoke shoes for Praneeth Kumar have been creating waves in footwear industry. From quite a long time, the company has been constantly galvanising the creative and innovative potential of young people through their undying efforts.

To address the specific needs of this young individual with foot deformity, they have customised a design into a smart pair of shoes that will help him walk without fear of failing over.

A comfortable pair of shoes demands detailed attention to fit and a perfect shoe making process; Red Chief does it all effortlessly through its state-of-the-art technology and its obsession towards perfectionism.

All of 23 Praneeth was going through a strange foot deformity and due to the ignorance of the makers of the footwear industry; he was limited to boring comfort shoe choices.

Red Chief came into action as soon as they got to know his story, an upsurge of impatience took over them to support him with an exciting option that will help him overcome his disability and allow him to feel more acceptable in his own clique and the world around.

Within a week’s time frame from receiving his footprint and other essential details, they crafted and customised an exclusive pair of casual shoes for him giving him the confidence to walk with pride, comfort and style and to always look the adversities of life in the eye.

"In these socially existential times, our prompt presence on social media proved to be a boon for our valued customer Praneeth, where he reached out to us regarding his foot disability and we at Red Chief decided to not let him down.

The entire design team set into action immediately, to provide him with shoes that would not only help him with his disability but would also give him the confidence and style to gel in the crowd.

We came across certain minor hindrances, but we managed to overcome them with his cooperation and the expertise of our team, to craft a final product that would leave him satisfied and happy," Barun Prabhakar - DGM- Design and Marketing Red Chief said.

At the age of 18 months, Praneeth was affected with polio to his left leg. Due to that, his growth of left leg was not regular compared with right leg. As he grew older his walking was changed and slowly he started a hand on my limb to walk and leant to left side.

“At the age of 12 I underwent a pair of surgeries for my leg, but unfortunately I realised that it was not successful within a span of one year. In a second opinion with another doctor I found that I need a surgery when I will be 21 years old,” he shared.

“After finishing my graduation I went to a hospital and they said that they can't operate my leg and I was totally dejected. After three months I had a small hairline fracture to the same leg and went to the same hospital for treatment and one doctor suggested to undergo a couple of surgeries.

After my second surgery I was under physiotherapy for 1 year and I was ready to walk without hand on my limb,” he added. Praneeth encountered a small problem after surgery. “As I started walking, doctor found a small problem in my walking.

He suggested to wear a shoe with a small heal. However, he also said that wearing that type of shoe regularly will cause severe spinal cord problem in future,” he said. Praneeth informed that while going through a newspaper he saw advertising of RedChief with Facebook link and he messaged them on their FB id.

“They responded very quickly and my shoe size and foot prints were taken and they delivered a pair of custom-made shoe in no time. Now I am able to walk without any problems. I would like to thank Udita Chathurvedi (Digital marketing team) and Barun Prabhakar. They heeded my request and swung into action,” he concluded.
