For the love of sport climbing

Intemational Olympic Day celebrations celebrated all over the world on June 23 every year. On this occasion Indian Olympic association is observing these celebrations from June 20 to 30 to organise various events and programmes on awareness of Olympic Games.

On this occasion the Adventure Club of Telangana State (ACTS) is organising special programmes on Sport Climbing (this sport is recognised by International Olympic Association IOA officially) in recent RIO Olympics.

This sport has 54 medals in all Categories :
a) Speed climbing b) Lead Climbing c) Bouldering
In India Indian Mountaineering Foundation (IMF), New Delhi is apex body to regulate and organise National competitions. IMF is divided seven zones to conduct zonal competitions like : North, South, East, West, Northeast, Central zone, Services zone. Each state will select 3 of the best from each category, which will come up to around l2 to 13 members in the zonal competitions.

To promote and popularise Sport Climbing among the students and youth they are conducting a unique challenge on sport climbing wall for 12 hours climbing to attract more youngsters to participate in this sport. On June 23 the event will start at 6 in the morning and will go on till six in the evening. One climber will start the climb and the next starts right after the one climbing reaches back.

The wall will have one person on it at all times through the event. The supporters and well wishers of sport climbing, adventure clubs, schools and colleges can participate. People from the NSS or NCC can participate as well. The event will take place at Youth Hostel, Secunderabad. All the successful participants will be awarded with certificates and medals.
