Both on camera and off it, I dig comfort, which clearly reflects in the choices I make – whether it is the roles I choose, the endorsements I take on or the clothes I am spotted in. Yoga has always helped me to remain calm and restore my balance in everyday work.”

Five tips to go with your fitness regime:

  • Make up your mind on what you want to do—be it workout, yoga or running.
  • Follow proper diet with nutrition; it is important to be disciplined about what you are eating.
  • Try investing in great clothing; it motivates you to be healthy and fit.
  • Workout indoors or outdoor.
  • Get a good music playlist because that is always going to be there when you work out.

Talking about fitness, Malaika says it means a lot to her, she says, “For me it’s a way of life, which I incorporate in everyday routine. For me fitness is not just doing physical exercises. It is all about mind, body, soul as well as nutrition. It is fitness in a very holistic sort of way. ”

About International Yoga Day plans Malaika says, “I am very excited because for the first time I will be part of such initiative. I want to be there and spread the message and awareness to as many people as possible about yoga and its benefits.”

“I don’t believe in any of the diets and I don’t want to propagate about anything which is horrible to your body. I will advise to follow nutrition instead of dieting. Eat whatever you want and workout at least thrice a day,” advices Malaika. “‘Live a healthy lifestyle!’ is her message to her fans!
