V-care, a voluntary organisation, empowering the underprivileged and neglected sections of society, organised a fundraising event ‘Colors’ recently in the city. As part of it, dance, art and music shows were organised. The programme started with actress and Bharatanatyam danseuse Shobana’s musical dance recital of ‘Dashavataram’. Shobana along with her group mesmerised the audience with their great dancing skills.

She performed the ten avatars include Mathsya, Koorma, Varaaha, Narasimha, Vamana, Rama, Krishna Balarama, Buddha and Kalki. with just music, that too western as accompaniment. She enthralled the audience by changing her expressions in split seconds. Later, she performed for Saint Tyagaraya’s Pancharatna Kriti in Arabi Raagam.

After the dance ballet by Shobana, a sand art show was performed by artist Venugopal. The programme ended with ‘Capricio’, the first ever Telugu Fusion music band that rendered various Telugu hits.

“We started this organisation in 2009 to help the underprivileged and neglected sections of society. We believe in giving back to the society. We started with three members and now we are more than 120. I hope many people will come forward to help after seeing our efforts,” said Gautham, General Secretary, V- Care.
