A one-day workshop on ‘Child Protection’, which was organised by CAP Foundation and supported by Plan India International, was inaugurated by MLA KP Vivekanand at a prominent city hotel on Wednesday. 

A one-day workshop on ‘Child Protection’, which was organised by CAP Foundation and supported by Plan India International, was inaugurated by MLA KP Vivekanand at a prominent city hotel on Wednesday.

The event was conducted to appraise stakeholders, government bodies, and communities about the initiatives taken during the year on child protection, water, sanitation and hygiene, health and nutrition and the progress of the young leaders.

A statement released by the organisation informed, “As part of this campaign CAP Foundation and Plan India International promoted 50 young children between ages 14 and 18, studying in government schools, colleges and private schools.

These young leaders were trained on topics like understanding slums, addressing the child protection issues and reporting mechanisms, importance of health and nutrition’s effects on child and mother, understand the need for safe, potable drinking water, sanitation and hygiene.”

Dr Siva Prasad, Add Medical and Health Officer, GHMC, Swaroopa Rani, District Welfare officer, Women and Child Welfare, Vijaya Devi, CWC Member, Dr Nalini Gangadharan, Chairperson, CAP Foundation, Ch Madhuri, COO, CAP Foundation and Rajan Vadivelu, Coordinator, Plan India were also present.
