On the occasion of the World Population Day,the District Collector of Medchal MV Reddy called upon people to strive to control population. He flagged off a rally at the Primary Health Centre in Keesara. Later, participating in a meeting organised at Lalitha Function Hall in Keesara he said ANMs and ASHA volunteers should play a vital role in sensitising people on the problems of excess population.

“KCR Kits will be distributed free of cost to those who undergo institutional deliveries at government hospitals,” he said. In the draw of lots Reddy picked two couples, who underwent sterilisation with one child and two children, and gifted them a cash prize or Rs 5,000 each. He also presented mementos and certificates of merit to the best PHC, the best Medical Officer and to those who stood top in the essay writing competition.

The district Collector was not satisfied with the arrangements being made for Haritha Haram programme at Keesara. He also expressed anger on officials concerned for not maintaining cleanliness after witnessing a pond filled with drainage water and stagnated waste in front of Lalitha Function hall.

Keesara MPP Sujatha, District Medical and Health Officer Dhasya Naik, District Information Officer Thukaram, Keesara Revenue Divisional Officer Hanumant Reddy, MPDO Vinayak Kumar, Sarpanch Ganesh, MPTC members, medical officers, ANMs, ASHA volunteers and Nursing College students took part in the programme.
