Indian Film Actress, Founder Blue Cross, Amala Akkineni formally inaugurated the ‘Go Swadeshi Our weaves, our pride’ exhibition in Banjara Hills on Wednesday. The five-day event is organised by GoCoop, ab online marketplace for weavers and artisans.

“The exhibition showcases a wide range of exquisite handloomsarees and products by weavers and artisans from across the country will be held from GoCoop’s ‘Go Swadeshi’ is an attempt to reinstate the pride in hand-spun, hand-woven and handcrafted products and to encourage people to indulge in the rich handloom traditions of India,” said Siva Devi Reddy – Founder.
“The exhibition also gives a unique opportunity for weavers and artisans to sell their produce directly to the consumers,”he added. With a mix of contemporary and traditional, ‘Go Swadeshi’is showcasing the best of collection by weavers from Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Odisha, West Bengal & Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and many more.
“From the vibrant Bengal Jamdanis & Tangail sarees to the subtle elegance of Maheshwaris and Chanderis, the collections will spoil you for choices. The exhibition will also showcase handwoven range of fabrics, home furnishings, menswear as well as women’s apparels,” said Reddy. The event be on till July 16 from 11am to 9pm.
