Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao congratulated Hyderabad cricketer Mithali Raj for breaking the record as the highest runs scored by a woman cricketer in the One-Day format of the game and for scoring 6,000 runs so far.

In a message sent to her in this regard, the Chief Minister wished that Raj, as captain of the Indian women’s cricket team and in her own capacity should get more victories. He said it was a proud moment for the country as Raj created a record as the highest run getter and Jhulan Goswami as the highest wicket taker.
The CM said that both the young women have reminded him of the days of Sunil Gavaskar and Kapil Dev, who had registered such a performance in Test cricket.
The Chief Minister wished that the Indian women’s cricket team, under the captainship of Raj should register a massive victory. He said Hyderabad girls, who are excelling in cricket, tennis, badminton and winning awards, titles for the country will be inspirational to the young and aspiring girls.
