It was nothing short of a thoughtful gesture when Care Hospitals, Banjara Hills joined hands with the Nimmagadda Foundation to provide paediatric congenital surgeries to poor patients.

Addressing a group of congenital heart disease treated patients in Banjara Hills on Thursday, Prasad Nimmagadda, said that so far more than 3,000 heart surgeries were performed. He said that the association with Care Hospitals will further help more poor children.

Dr B Soma Raju, Chairman & Managing Director CARE Group of Hospitals said that congenital heart disease is a growing and a neglected problem in India. “Due to lack of facilities, money or awareness, CHD patients in India often live and die untreated.

This is extremely ironical considering that all forms of CHD are completely treatable by surgery and medication, after which a child can look forward to a normal life. We need the community action to rid our country of the curse of the disease,” he said.

“This initiative will strive to create awareness about congenital and acquired heart diseases among general masses and doctors,” he added.

Hospital Facility Chief Operating Officer K Hara Gopal, Paediatric Cardiologist Dr K Nagaeshwar Rao, Paedatric Cardiac Surgeon Dr Tapan Dash, Vice-Chairman Dr N Krishna Reddy, Medical Superintendent Dr Gopi Krishna and others were present.
