Inspiration drives many to achieve success. To inspire people, Sakthi Swaroop, Hyderabad-based engineer, quit his job and started a blog ‘Stories of Common Man’, in 2016 to bring the real-life stories of common people who defied all odds in the process of achieving success.

Sakthi Swaroop along with his team including Joy Solomon (Hyderabad), Kruthika Parappa (Karnataka), Amritha Varshini (Tamil Nadu), Krishna Gopika (Kerala), Laxmi Balan (Pondicherry), Harsha Thakalapally (USA), Shwetha Lalwani (Raipur) and Shubham (Jodhpur) are bringing together inspiring stories from eight Indian cities.

“We started it one year back as a blog. Previously, I used to write wiki articles about elite people like IAS and IPS officers. Later, I decided to bring the struggle of the people, who inspire us. Now a days people are depressed for small things. Our team is present in more than eight cities in India and we will spread all over in near future,” shared Sakthi Swaroop.

Citing an example of how the stories have affected people, he says, “We got a mail from a father that his son was in depression and he came out of it after reading one of our inspiring stories. This is one of the biggest achievements for us. Many people react and donate money after reading our stories and we distribute the money to the people in the story,” he adds.

Till now, the team published 52 stories. Picking his best from it, Swaroop shares “Our recent story ‘The Last Fire’ is the best one. It is about a 53-year-old woman, who is working in a crematorium for the past 10-years to fulfill her family needs. This story has been going viral and is inspiring many,”

The blog is also launched as an app with the same name to reach to more people. A book has been published with the stories. Many organisations and schools in the country workwith the ‘Stories of Common man’ team to widen the reach of the stories. And it is an ongoing journey.
