City-based company Sathguru Management Consultants organised a blood donation camp ‘Sankalp’ as a part of their Corporate Social Responsibility initiative at Vishwa Vishwani Institute of Systems and Management on Thursday.

The main objective of the camp was to save lives of people, who are in dire need of blood but have no access due to lack of proper supply. The camp was overseen by a team of well-equipped and trained medical attendants and Sankalp team who made all the necessary arrangements to ensure safety, hygiene and comfort of the donors.

The initiative had students from the Institute participating with an intention of contributing for the social benefit of those in need of blood. The blood collected from the initiative will be supplied for free to the patients suffering from thalassemia, a rare genetic blood disorder, which is carried by four per cent of the population and to the children who are suffering from cancer.

Speaking on the occasion Raja Rajeswari, General Manager, Sankalp shared, “Since 2007 we have collected more than 700 units of blood and for the first time Sankalp is collaborating with Vishwa Vishwani Institute of Systems and Management to support the cause. We are glad that young students are coming forward to give hope to children fighting thalassemia and cancer.”
