Abhinav, Meghnath script big win for Johnson Grammar School

A scintillating 138 by C Abhinav Tej and a splendid bowling performance by Meghnath Pusa (5/19) were the toast of a resounding 2 41-run win posted by Johnson Grammar School (JGS), Nacharam, over a hapless Gitanjali Devashary in their HCA Inter-school league match.

Batting first, JGS, riding on the brilliance of Abhinav Tej, who sent the bowlers on a leather hunt by scoring all round the wicket, cruised to an imposing 354 for the loss of three wickets in the stipulated overs.

Chasing an improbable target weighed heavily on Gitanjali Devashary batsmen, who succumbed to sustained spells by Meghnath Pusa and Anirudh Shambula (3/34), who bowled in tandem to skittle out the batsmen for a paltry 113 runs.

Meanwhile, in two low-scoring matches, Kites Junior College scored a facile eight-wicket win over I Class CDR College while Sacred Heart High School defeated St Mark’s Boys Town High School by 47 runs.
