The founder of Maxivision Super Speciality Eye Hospitals and pioneer of LASIK (Laser-Assisted In Situ Keratomileusis) surgery, Dr Kasu Prasad Reddy, has taken over as chairman of Kare4u – a Hyderabad based digital healthcare start-up.

Known to offer B2B (business to business) model, Kare4u Healthcare solutions Pvt Ltd, was founded by two former Infoscions -- Prabin Kumar Bardhan & Brahma Acharya -- in October 2012.

Sources said that Dr Reddy bought 10 per cent stake in the start-up with the aim of playing an active role to enable doctors-entrepreneurs, especially to ophthalmologists in not only managing their internal and operational processes but also to provide them growth momentum with end-to-end solutions.

"I always believed in serving my patients the best possible way and Kare4U provides the right technology platform, which will revolutionize the hospital-patient relationship,” said Dr Reddy.

While hoping to take Indian Healthcare to not only nooks and corners of India, but aboard as well, he said that Kare4u’s pre-paid digital healthcare platform enables hospitals and diagnostic centres to expose all their services to existing and potential customers in an interactive way.

“It has been a challenging journey to make hospitals understand the need of digitising their services and empowering their patients to book any of the services like consultation, diagnostics tests, second opinion, remote consultation etc, through innovative online platform,” said Prabin Bardhan, CEO of Kare4u.

"Indian Healthcare entities now need to ride the digital disruption wave and provide convenience to their patients. Having Dr Kasu Prasad Reddy will significantly help us in aligning our portfolio with the market needs,” he added.

It is significant to note that the Indian healthcare industry started technology adoption in a cautious manner as many existing players were yet to appreciate the benefits of having a sound electronic medical records (EMR) and hospital information management system (HIMS).

This is where Kare4U comes in by providing cutting edge IT services. “Being on cloud and cutting edge enables us to push new relevant services in a much more assured manner," said Brahma Acharya, chief technology officer (CTO).
