Danseuse Deelshitha Jaligama performed as part of ‘NrityaGalarchana’ over the weekend at Ravindra Bharati. Deekshitha showcased her prowess in both Carnatic classical music and Kuchipudi.

Danseuse Deelshitha Jaligama performed as part of ‘NrityaGalarchana’ over the weekend at Ravindra Bharati. Deekshitha showcased her prowess in both Carnatic classical music and Kuchipudi.

Deekshitha has been learning Carnatic classical music and Kuchipudi under the tutelage of Jayasri and Pavani Sreelatha respectively for the past nine years.

In the event, she presented two keerthanas followed by a thillana, penned by PrakhyaAnjaneya Sastry (Father and guru of Jayasri) in her music recital. As she proceeded to dance recital, she performed an invocation dedicated to Goddess Saraswathi, PrahladaPattabhishekaSabdam, Tharangam, Javali and Thillana.

The orchestral support includes Pavani Sreelatha on nattuvangam, Kanakam Chandra Rao on vocals, MamillapalliChandrakanth on mridangam, Sivakrishna Swaroop on violin, Dattatreya on flute and Srikanth on tabla and effects.

The programme was graced by DrBhagavathulaSethuram (Director, Distance Education, PSTU), RasamayiBalakishan(MLA, Chairman of Telangana, SamskruthikaSaradhi), VV Srinivasa Rao (IGP, L&O), MamidiHarikrishna (Director, Department of Culture) and DSV Sastry (Eminent singer, music and dance director).
