Grand Ganapathi Navaratri celebrations in Secunderabad

The ‘Ganesh Chaturthi Navaratri’ celebrations will be performed from Friday to September 6 at the Ganapathi Temple near Navagraha Upalayam in Secunderabad.

During celebrations Vedas, Chandi Saptasathi parayanam and Ganapathi Upanishath parayanam will be chanted with devotion by scholars and on the last day prasadam will be distributed.

A statement from the temple committee on Tuesday said, “History says that the main deity of Ganapathi was found during 1824 AD in this temple in an old well by military officers. Thereafter, poojas were performed by devotees after shifting the deity to the newly constructed Garbhalayam.

After the temple came under the control of Endowment Department, many deities were installed around the main one with beautiful sculptures, which are attracting the devotees.”
