Ace designer Manish Malhotra closed the winter-festive edition of Lakme Fashion Week (LFW) with a show that had who’s who of Bollywood at St Regis in Mumbai on Sunday night.

The five-day fashion event saw the likes of stars that included Shabana Azmi, Sridevi Karan Johar, Karishma Kapoor, Sushant Singh Rajput and Tiger Shroff cheering for the designer from the front row. The other names who added glamour quotient to the show were Amrita Arora, Disha Patani, Dia Mirza, Kiara Advani, Shriya Saran, Diana Penty, Pooja Hegde, and others.

As always, it was a breath-taking array of glitter, dazzle and glamour with crystals, sequins and zari along with giant beaded tasselled accents making dramatic style statements. Corsets were a popular choice, teamed with feathered skirts, slit gowns, ornate lehengas or as minis with long shoulder capes.

Known for working with a riot of colours and psychedelic prints to produce quirky designs loved all around, ace designer Manish Arora brought the rainbow-theme alive. “It is time that India should not be separated from the world in terms of fashion as the customer has become global,” feels the designer who had Ranveer Singh strutting down the ramp for him.

Meanwhile, Aditi Rao Hydari walked for Jayanti Reddy who had rich fabrics like silks, velvets and tulles for her creations but it was the construction and the colours that were the focal point of the garments. Diana Penty walked for Shriya Som and translated passion for art and nature through highly distinguished pieces that narrated a tale of wilderness with elegance.

As Kriti Sanon turned inspiration Arpita Mehta’s ‘Midnight Muse’ with the sensuous festive line, Radhika Apte donned eco-friendly fashion for Sailesh Singhania. Chitrangada Singh, who walked for Neha Agarwal, looked absolutely stunning in a printed trumpet dress that was daringly revealing yet mesmerisingly beautiful in multi-colours and striking embroidery. And, Preity Zinta was every bit of a fantasy for Falguni and Shane Peacock’s off-shoulder floor-length gown.
