Kasturba Gandhi College felicitates Mithali Raj
It was a homecoming of sorts for Mithali Raj, the Indian Women’s Cricket team captain, when she entered the Kasturba Gandhi Junior College for Women. It was here that Mithali studied and also honed her skills at the nearby Shenoy Grounds, just a stone’s throw away from the college.

The management of Kasturba Gandhi Junior College felicitated Mithali for her performance in the recent World Cup and also for surpassing 6,000 runs.
Mithali presented mementoes to sports persons from the college who represented in national and international events. The college management announced a sports scholarship after her.
The Mithali Raj Sports Scholarship would be awarded to outstanding sports girls of the college. K Sanskruthi of MPC stream is the recipient of the award this year. Speaking on the occasion, Pratima Reddy, principal, Kasturba Gandhi Junior College said, “The college has been encouraging sports as well as academics and is proud of Mithali.”
